  • Determine the detour index of the dry weather road at grid reference 247743 to grid reference 197746. (02 marks)

(A) i) Identify the manmade feature at 095465ii) State the grid reference of the dam found in Namulanda- Nkondo seasonal swamp. (02 marks)

(B) Calculate the area covered by Lake Kyoga(excluding the swamp). (02 marks)

(C) Draw a cross section of the area shown on the map between grid reference 040400 and 100472 and on it mark and name:

    • The dry weather road
    • Water hole
    • River
    • Settlement (08 marks)

(D) i) Identify any three human activities carried out in the area. (03 marks)

ii) Describe the factors that have favored the above human activities identified in d) i) above. (05 marks)
