Many girls today drop out of school at secondary level for different reasons. They do not get the opportunity to go for further education. After completing her end- of-year examinations, Martina, a sixteen-year-old girl, was forced by her father into marrying a man twice her age, for dowry. Although she always topped her class, her father rendered girl-child education useless. Her future and dreams were shattered for four bags of sugar and five head of cattle. Today, being a young mother hasruined her vision for a brighter future. Martina is now a young woman whose life has been
tatally ruined.
