Kabubbu Development Project Teachers undergo training in Digital Pedagogy and Online learning.

Primary and Nursery teachers at Kabubbu Development Project underwent a 3 day training in Digital Pedagogy and Online learning from 23rd-25th September 2021 facilitated by the Ultimate Multimedia Consult team. The training was aimed at guiding teachers on how to create multimedia interactive learning content to make learning interesting for their pupils.

Training topics covered.

The training topics covered throughout the three days were

  • Introduction to Digital Learning and Digital Pedagogy
  • 21st century education and Active learning
  • Why and how digital Pedagogy is important
  • Intro to Tools for supporting digital learning and digital pedagogy
  • Collaborative digital content development tools
  • Choosing the right media element
  • Digital photography and imaging for digital content development
  • Audio production and publishing online & mobile
  • Digital learning gadgets handling, apps and best practices
  • Graphics design to power your digital learning
  • Video production and publishing online & mobile
  • Searching the web for relevant learning content & resources
  • Text to speech and Speech to text technologies
  • Immersive educational content development and virtual reality
  • Developing interactive learning content: H5P, Storyline, Captivate
  • Guide to producing effective educational videos

Flow of training

Day One

Day 1 started with sessions in digital pedagogy and online learning to help the teachers firstly appreciate, understand and know how to create a conducive learning atmosphere for their learners. . The last session of the day provided teachers with best practices on digital gadgets handling.

Day Two

Day 2 began with selected teachers giving a recap of sessions that were covered on Day 1. The sessions followed were on how to develop multimedia content in graphics and video. Teachers were also taken through how to search for educational content online, a key 21st Century skill for a teacher today to deliver effective digital learning. The day ended with a session on how teachers can develop immersive educational content and virtual reality.

Day Three

The final day of the training commenced with a recap of Day 2 sessions and began with a session on how to develop interactive learning content using H5P technology. This was followed by a session on best tips and practices on developing educational videos. The teachers were later recorded on video delivering content in relation to their subjects which were edited and viewed by the School Director, Mr Enoch Kagoda who later presided over certificates to all teachers who attended the training.
