This unit consists of composite functions, the inverse function and the sine and cosine rule

The inverse of a function

The inverse of a fucnion takes us from the range book to the domain.

Note:

For the function gf(x) to be un defined the denominator must be equal to O.

THE SINE RULE

  1. The sine rule enables us to calculate the sides and angles in triangel s where there is no aught angle.

THE COSINE RULE

We use the cosine rule when we have either

  1. Two sides and the included angle
  2. All three sides

To find the length of a side we use the following;

When solving a triangle in which two sides and the included angle are given, first find the third side by the cosine rule then you can use the sine rule or cosine rule to find the smaller of the two unknown angles.
