NBA star Rudy Gobert is in the middle of a deep playoff run with the Minnesota Timberwolves, but that isn’t stopping his drama off the court from taking over.

Based on a new report from TMZ, Gobert and Bonilla’s relationship has reportedly come to an abrupt end.

Sources close to the wives and girlfriends of Minnesota’s star players told the publication that the split has sent shockwaves through their circle, especially considering Bonilla and Gobert were seen cozying up following the Wolves’ matchup against the Utah Jazz in April 2025.

According to the report, Gobert asked Bonilla, who is currently pregnant with their second child, to leave his home and to take their one-year-old, Romeo, with her.

Insiders told TMZ that Bonilla hopes to return to France with her and Gobert’s son; however, the three-time NBA All-Star has requested that she stay in the United States until they reach an agreement regarding custody of their children.

The seven-foot center has even reportedly retained a lawyer to help ensure Bonilla remains in the US until the Wolves’ playoff run is over.

Rudy Gobert’s Former Partner Speaks Out About Their Relationship’s End

It’s unclear what led to Gobert and Bonilla’s split; however, the latter shared a message on her Instagram Stories, updating her followers about how she was dealing with the aftermath of their breakup.

“I’m going through one of the most painful times in my life, feeling isolated, far from my family and friends,” she wrote. “I considered Rudy the love of my life. I left everything for him. I gave him a child and poured my heart into our relationship,” she continued.

“When everyone criticized and insulted him, I stood by him, always putting him first and choosing him, always,” Bonilla added.

The mother of one explained that she’d continue to stand by Gobert’s side to protect their children despite “how I’ve been treated.”

She added, “I am a mom, and I must prioritize my health and well-being. Thank you for respecting my privacy during this challenging time.”

Per TMZ, Bonilla also addressed the rumors that suggest she was unfaithful, stating she’s “NEVER EVER” cheated on “the father of my children.”

Gobert also issued a public statement claiming “inaccurate information” was circulating; however, he didn’t state exactly what he was referring to.

The NBA player noted that he plans to continue “supporting the well-being of all the people that I care about.”

Bonilla Has Defended Gobert From Negative Commentary In The Past

In April 2024, after Gobert was voted the “most overrated” player in the NBA, Bonilla slammed the results before praising her son’s father as one of the hardest-working athletes she’d encountered.

“My partner is the most dedicated, focused, hard-working person I have ever met,” she wrote in an Instagram post, according to the Daily Mail. “He hasn’t stolen anything from anyone and deserves all the respect for his determination and commitment to his career.”

What Other Drama Is Happening During The NBA Playoffs?

Aside from Gobert’s drama with Bonilla off the court, another NBA player who has endured bouts of negative press during the playoff run is Golden State Warriors player Draymond Green.

After receiving his fifth foul during the Warriors’ matchup against the Timberwolves in early May, the 6’6″ power forward was seen aggressively approaching league officials and telling them their call was “bullsh-t.”

During the post-game press conference, Green slammed the media and the NBA for pushing an “agenda” to portray him in a negative light.

“Looked like the angry Black man,” he said in the locker room to reporters. “I’m not an angry Black man. I am a very successful, educated Black man with a great family, and I am great at basketball and great at what I do.”

He finished, “The agenda to try to keep making me look like an angry Black man is crazy. I’m sick of it. It’s ridiculous.”
