I will, in the course of my information security career, become well versed
on the topic of
Digital Rights Management. The reasons for this are twofold:
-
It’s an interesting subject. The question of how much control consumers
will have over digital content they purchase is an intruiging one, and I
look forward to putting some thought into the issue. -
The acronym for Digital Rights Management is DRM — the letters
that also happen to be my initials.
I just think the irony of someone with the intials DRM putting out some
solid thought on the subject is too rich to pass up. It’s a novelty, to be
sure, but if it’s an interesting topic to me anyway, I figure why not play
it up?
Anyway, it’s something for me to explore down the line at some point. Heh, I
could really get crazy with it and change my blog’s secondary title from
“grep understanding knowledge” to “the good DRM”.
