    1. Relevance of the learning platform: This is a very important factor to consider especially since we are releasing students into a digital world. From the findings above the majority (50%) said their learning platforms were not relevant to the modern workforce. That begs the question, how relevant is Moodle (which UCU uses) to the modern workforce? a quick scan through Google shows that Moodle is ranked 3rd in terms of popularity. So, perhaps this is a good sign. However, the relevance of this question to the research was perhaps to show that learning is not about the institution but rather it is about the students who will face the world without their lecturers once they graduate.
    2. Level of adoption of digital learning: according to the results in the infographic, the journey was not complete across the board. It was still in progress even for learning which is the most critical sector in this case. This points to one or two things: 1) Digital learning is probably not a priority, hence its being in progress across the board. 2) There is hesitation to adopt digital learning completely. Unfortunately it is not  clear who was interviewed for this research and so it is not clear who is responsible for the state of affairs: is it the students who are failing to take up digital learning or is it the institution? That said, the situation at UCU is not any different. Although we have had the eLearning provision for a while now, its adoption is still in progress at all levels: teaching, policy etc. This leaves the lecturers with little motivation to move towards incorporating elearning more in their courses.
    3. Top areas of growth in digital learning: Video and blended learning are the fastest growing areas in digital learning. This is a good thing because it shows that the traditional classroom as we know it is not dying. It has its own advantages. This is backed by the fact that social/collaborative platforms come second. Most times, digital learning is thought of in terms of going purely digital... and yet as the research shows, blended learning is the way to go. UCU needs to encourage blended learning by making it a requirement for all courses.
