    1. What are the advantages of using papier-mâché as a material?
    a) Can be used in textiles.
    b) They are light-weight.
    c) When Paper Mache is dried, they can be strong as build form.
    d) They are inexpensive and are available.
    e) Due to it intoxicate nature, they can be used by children too.
    f) They do not catch fire easily making them non-flammable and further easy to use.

    2. What is papier-mâché?
    It is a light material made from paper pulp and glue, which can be moulded when wet and painted when dry.

    3. Describe the best techniques in papier-mâché.
    a) Making papier Mache pulp is fun. It turns into a kind of “putty” or clay. and can be used to shape anything you want really. Papier Mache pulp works best if “pressed into bowls” or other moulds.
    b) You can use cardboard to build basic frames – using masking tape or ordinary tape to connect parts together and then carefully layer it with newspaper strips.

    4. Differentiate between the strip Mache technique and the paper pulp technique.
    The pulp type of paper Mache is most often used to create moulded and sculpted pieces, while the strip form is used to cover existing surfaces, making hollow and flat pieces

    5. What is the process of making a craft using papier-mâché?
    Pulped papier Mache crafts are made by combining torn newsprint or paper, water, and flour, or glue blended to make a clay-like paste. In some cases, an armature is formed out of cardboard, aluminium foil, or wire, and then the object is covered with papier Mache.

    6. What is the importance of adding salt in paper pulp?
    This helps the Mache dry without growing mold.

    7. What is an armature and of what importance is it in papier-mâché?
    In sculpture, an armature is a framework around which the sculpture is built.This framework provides structure and stability, especially when a plastic material such as wax, newspaper or clay is being used as the medium.
