Prose and poetry are two ways of classifying types of writing. Sometimes we group literature according to the topic matter (fiction, non-fiction, mystery, drama, and so on). The two topics make up the Literature paper one course.

Prose is a form of language that has no formal metrical structure. It applies a natural flow of speech, and ordinary grammatical structure, rather than rhythmic structure, such as in the case of traditional poetry.
