A spectrometer

It is an instrument used to measure accurate determination of deviation of a parallel beam of light which has
passed through a prism.

This provides a mean of studying optical spectra and measurement of refractive indices of glass in form of a prism.
It consists of a collimator, a telescope, and a turn table on which the prism is placed as shown.
