A unit that equips you with knowledge of finding the lowest common multiple ,highest common multiple greatest common multiple

NUMBER PATTERNS AND SEQUENCES

What are Number Patterns? In Mathematics, number patterns are the patterns in which a list number that follows a certain sequence. Generally, the patterns establish the relationship between two numbers. It is also known as the sequences of series in numbers. LESSON 1 Types of numbers
  1. counting numbers
  2. even and odd numbers
  3. prime and composite numbers.
Multiples of numbers Examples
  1. List down all the multiples of 2 less than 12.
M2               1 x 2 = 2  2 x 2 = 4  2 x 3 = 6  2 x 4  = 8  2 x 2 = 10  2 x 6  = 12  M2 less than 12 = {2, 4, 6, 8, 10}
  1. List the multiples of 2 between 10 and 20
6 x 2 = 12  7 x 2 = 14  8 x 3 = 16  9 x 4 = 18  M2 between 10 and 20 = {12, 14, 16, 18}
  1. List multiples of 9 less than 40.
1 x 9  =  9  2 x 9  = 18  3 x 9  = 27  4 x 9  = 36  =  {9, 18, 27, 36} LESSON 2  Number📷 LESSON 3  📷 LESSON 4 Finding factors of numbers Examples
  1. List all the factors of 6. 2.   List all the factors of 18.
F6       1 x 6  = 6                                       F18     1 x 18  = 18  2 x 6 = 12                                               2 x 9    = 18  =  {1, 2, 3, 6}                                            3 x 6 =  18  = {1, 2, 3, 6, 7, 18}
  1. List all the factors of 30.
F 30👉   1 x 30  = 30 2 x 15  = 30 3 x 10  = 30 5  x  6  = 30 = { 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 10, 15, 30 LESSON 5  Finding common factors Examples Find the common factor of 2 and 4
  1. F2 1 x 2  = 2                          F4      1 x 4  = 4
=(1,  2)                                     2 x 2  = 4  =  {1, 2, 4 }  C.F of 2 and 4  = {1, 2}
  1. Find the common factors of 12 and 24
F12     1 x 12 = 12              F24  1 x 24  =  24  2 x 6 = 12                             2  x 12  = 24 3 x 4  = 12                             3 x 18   = 24.                                                      4 x 6     = 24 ={ 1,  2,  3,  4,  6,  12} = { 1,  2,  3,  4,  6,  8,  12,  24}  C.F of 12 and 24 = { 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 12} LESSON 6 Finding  H.C.F of 6 and 9 (Highest Common Factor or Greatest Common Factor) Examples
  1. Find the HCF of 6 and 9
F6                                            F9  1 x 6 = 6                                  1 x 9  = 9  2 x 3  = 6                                 3 x 3  = 9  = {1, 2, 3, 6}                                       = {1, 3, 9}  CF  = {1, 3}                               = {1, 3, 9}  H.C.F of 6 and 9 = 3
  1. Find the GCF of 7 and 14
F7      1 x 7 = 7                         F14    1 x 4  = 14  = {1, 7}                                     2 x 7 = 14  = {1, 2, 7, 14}  C.F = {1, 7}  H.C.F of 7 and 14 = 7
