John-Dylan Haynes (Professor at the Bernstein Center for Computational
Neuroscience Berlin) shows Marcus Du Sautoy (Professor of Mathematics at the
University of Oxford and current Simonyi Professor for the Public
Understanding of Science) that he can see his decisions six seconds before
he makes them.
He comes down directly on the side of determinism.
As I’ve said numerous times here, my prediction is that this will become,
within the next decade, the widely accepted view among scientists. And soon
after, denying it will be like denying evolution. The key is that you can
argue that something else might be going on as well, but not that this
isn’t going on. ::
