SENIOR TWO MATHEMATICS

This course is designed by learners who have completed Senior One Mathematics. It is a continuation of the senior one mathematics for the lower secondary curriculum. It is designed in a multimedia form that is it contains videos, text, images, and links. This is to enable you get value from this content. We designed this course following the New lower secondary curriculum designed by National Curriculum Development Centre (NCDC). SENIOR TWO MATHEMATICS

Course Currilcum

    • LSC2: RELATIONS AND MAPPINGS Details 2 weeks
    • The concept of relation between two sets by finding the relation (rule of association) and drawing arrows from left hand side to right hand side. Mapping is an association between two sets A and B such that each element of A is associated with a unique element of B.
    • RELATIONS AND MAPPINGS AOI 10, 00:00
    • LSC2: VECTORS AND TRANSLATIONS Details 2 weeks
    • This unit is about vectors and translations
    • LSC2: GRAPHS Details 2 weeks
    • This unit is about distance time graphs and velocity time graphs
    • LSC2: INDICES Details 2 weeks
    • This unit is about indices
    • LSC2: INEQUALITIES AND REGIONS Details 2 weeks
    • This unit is about inequalities and regions
    • LSC2: ALGEBRA 2 Details 2 weeks
    • This unit is about quadratic expressions, expansions and how factorise and solve quadratic equations
    • LSC2: SIMILARITIES AND ENLARGEMENTS Details 2 weeks
    • This unit is about similarities and enlargements
    • LSC2: ROTATION AND REFLECTION Details 2 weeks
    • This unit is about rotation and reflection
    • LSC2: LENGTH AND AREA PROPERTIES Details 2 weeks
    • Geometric shapes are the figures with a set of points connected by lines resulting in a closed figure. For example, triangle, square, rectangle and quadrilateral are shapes with 3 and 4 points connected by lines. Shapes with bounded curves don’t have sides but have the circumference.
    • LSC2: AREA PROPERTIES OF SHAPES Details 00:02:00
    • This unit is about area and length properties of shapes
    • LSC2: NETS, AREAS AND VOLUMES OF SOLIDS Details 2 weeks
    • A geometry net is a 2-dimensional shape that can be folded to form a 3-dimensional shape or a solid. Or a net is a pattern made when the surface of a three-dimensional figure is laid out flat showing each face of the figure. A solid may have different nets.
    • LSC2: VOLUMES OF CUBES AND CUBOIDS Details 2 weeks
    • This unit is about volumes of cubes and cuboids
    • LSC2: SURFACE AREA OF 3D FIGURES Details 2 weeks
    • In geometry, the surface area of a 3D shape or geometric figure is the amount of space occupied by its surfaces.
    • LSC2: NUMERICAL CONCEPTS 2-SURDS Details 00:02:00
    • This unit is about surds
    • LSC2: INTRODUCTION TO SETS Details 2 weeks
    • This unit is about set theor
    • LSC2: SET THEORY Details 2 weeks
    • This unit explains in depth the concept of set theory and how to use the Venn diagram to solve three set problems.
