Geography Learner's Course four has several features integrated to enhance learning and analytical skills.
These features focus learners to apply skills and techniques of geography to their real-world experiences and within the environment. This course gives learners the basic geographical tools and concepts needed to understand the complexity of places and regions and to appreciate the relationship between their own lives and those of people in different parts of the world. Each chapter begins with a list of learning outcomes and keywords. The content of each chapter is arranged around these learning outcomes.
The chapters are written in an accessible style, often addressing the learner directly. The basic concepts are covered with real-world examples, and texts in the book are brief enough to provide flexibility for supplementary specialized information. This course shall basically serve you in two ways. First, it is meant to guide you on how to study on your own.
Second, it is meant to help you during class room interactions with your teacher. It is important to know that no one knows everything but we can learn from each other. Your teacher will act as a facilitator. Using this course requires you to know its features. The major features include; chapter, keywords, learning outcomes, learning activities, activity of integration, and glossary of terms. You are advised to focus on the activities.
Enquire from your teacher whenever you need assistance. The activity of integration is like an examination that will test your overall understanding of the chapter. Therefore, make sure you understand and put everything into practice.

- In this chapter, you are going to understand the importance and difficulties of industrial development in Africa. You will also know the main types of industries that have been developed on the continent and their distribution.
- Chapter 3: Mining and Industrial Development in China Details 06:05:00
- In Senior Two in chapter thirteen and in chapter twenty-six, you learnt about the importance of developing manufacturing industries, the types and location of manufacturing industries, problems of developing manufacturing industries.
- Chapter 4: Population and Urbanisation in Africa Details 1 year
- Chapter 5: Population and Urbanization in China Details 1 year
- Chapter 6: Development of Transport, Communication, and Trade in Africa Details 1 year
- Transport and communication facilities are important in modern economy. As engines that is the movement of goods and persons. In this chapter you are going to learn the main forms of transport and communication and trade in Africa, and the advantages and disadvantages of each.
- Chapter 7: Trade between Europe and Africa, Asia and Africa Details 1 year
- In this chapter, you are going to learn the main forms of trade between Europe and Africa and the advantages and disadvantages for both; the trade between China and Africa and the reasons for its increasing importance.
