LSC:SENIOR THREE BIOLOGY

Biology Senior 3 Learner's course has been written in line with the NCDC Revised Lower Secondary Competence Based Curriculum Biology Syllabus. The course has a range of activities which will be conducted both within and outside the classroom setting.

The activities are well-planned to enable you to actively and cheerfully participate in the acquisition of knowledge which you will use to effectively write, communicate and report on biological and other related concepts.

You are to work as an individual, in a pair, in a group or as a class according to the nature of each activity. The activities are practical and aimed at helping you engage and develop a deeper understanding of biological concepts, experimental techniques and gain practical skills which you can use to solve specific biological problems and also apply them in other related science fields.

You will also develop life skills, values and knowledge required in daily life. The course has relevant and well-thought through illustrations. They are clear and appropriate to enhance visual and practical learning. You need to look at them in comparison with what is physically available and find out knowledge and ideas for yourself which you can explain and demonstrate in your own understanding.

In this approach, you are strongly encouraged to be responsible for your own learning, think for yourself and form your own ideas and opinions thus becoming a critical thinker ready to face new challenges. As you use this course and carry out the activities, be mindful of the environment and your health.

This will enable you to gain knowledge of successfully managing health and environmental challenges facing your society. Also note that books are highly valuable, make good use of them and handle them with utmost care and love.
